After January 1st I will have taken the bus a total of 8 times in the last month. I think it's time to give Amtrak some business.
Our trip was great and also surprisingly uneventful!
We got to the city around 12:30pm and headed right to the apartment. T'was a tad depressing at first because it was just full of boxes!!! We headed to grab some lunch at Berkli Parc which was delish and I would highly recommend. (good place for salad/sandwiches/coffee)
Then we headed back and got to work. Once again, Moms are so good at unpacking and organizing, I just don't get it.
Somehow my clothes fit into the closet, no clue how though...the only place we really had a shortage of storage was the bathroom so I need to buy a little somethin' somethin' for that...
I used TLC's Studio Tips and the Tiny House Blog for organizing and decorating the apartment. Some of the most helpful tips were utilizing mirrors to create the elusion of more space, taking advantage of under the bed storage and keeping the room clean/bright. Photos below!

I'm happy with how it turned out. Still awaiting a couple more things...cable/internet so I can feel like a real person, but other than that it's done.
Now come visit me so you can see it in real life.
The next morning we grabbed doughnuts at the Doughnut Plant and proceeded to eat our body weight in sugary bliss.

We then went down to the Financial District to see what my commute will be like. It was only an 8 minute ride on the subway. WOOT.
We had to head to the bus shortly after that. I'm in DC for New Years and heading back up to NY officially on the 1st. I am definitely ready to be in the city for good!
