MoMo eats - Fonda

So...turns out I have a little less time to blog now that I'm working again. Weird, I know.

But, I must tell you about the most fabulous place I had dinner at on Saturday night with my friends Molly and Jeff.

Molly and Jeff live in South Slope which is on the south side of Park Slope in Brooklyn, NY. The area is awesome, lots of delicious restaurants and unique bars with a strong sense of community.

I was in the mood for Mexi. Molly was in the mood for Mexi. Jeff was in the mood for food.

So we ended up at Fonda.

I got a little crazy and tried something completely out of the ordinary to drink...a Corona Light. (sorrynotsorry)

Molly had a the Clasica and Jeff had the Rosalita. We voted the Clasica as our number one cocktail. it was your typical, yet fabuloso fresh margarita.

Rosalita

Upon arrive we noticed heaping mounds of guac in those bizarro lava looking bowls. And my-oh-my it was DELISH. I think we both agreed it was the best part of the meal. We ordered it medium spicy and it had a nice kick without being overpowered.

Guac heaven

For dinner, Molly had ENCHILADA DE MOLE NEGRO OAXAQUEÑO, I had POLLO NORTEÑO and Jeff got SOPA DE TORTILLA.

Molly's dish was a typical enchilada but with an insane mole sauce which was rich and flavorful. My entree was the favorite, a cheesy rendition of fajitas (my Mexi go-to), Jeff's meal was your typical chicken tortilla soup.

The run down

Service: mediocre, we waited a while for drinks and the guac
Price point: average, $100/3 people with drinks/apps before tip
Reservations needed?: yes
Atmosphere: Romantic/social

xxoo, your hungry girl Mo
