MoMo eats - Pig and Khao

This post is a tad overdue...damn you, full time job!

Graham and I did quite a bit of eating (naturally) while he was visiting.
On Friday night we had a late night dinner at Pig and Khao on Clinton St. in the Lower East.

I walked by it one night on my way to another dinner spot on Clinton, which is an eclectic block and it looked interesting and packed which is usually a good sign.

We went around 10pm and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. But the small wait was well worth it. It is definitely one of my most memorable meals since being here. Not only was the company stellar (obvi) but the food was insano.

The menu and food is Southeast Asian fusion at its finest. The atmosphere is cozy and the kitchen is open. You can even sit at the "bar" which is actually the kitchen and watch the chefs prepare the food.

What we drank...

Both of us - Tiger Lagar (served with adorable tea cups, weird but awesome)
Me - Sangria

What we ate...

Spiced Chickpeas (simple, good bar snack, I loved them, Graham wasn't crazy about them)
Crispy Red Curry Rice Salad (good, but not memorable)
Khao Soi (probably the best thing I've eaten in NYC so far, but SUPER spicy)

Khao Soi heaven

And we were planning to get the Whole Fried Fish but we're too full from the first three things that we had to cancel the fish. Let's just say, the small plates are rather large.

We will definitely be returning for that fried fish though.

The run down
Service: excellent
Price point: average, expensive for small plates but they're not small
Reservations needed?: no
Atmosphere: romantic, inviting
