On Broadway - Avenue Q

Graham was in town last weekend (le sigh) and we had the best time! It was so nice to have someone visiting from home and also great to be reunited with the BF.

We did lots and lots of fun activities, one of the best being attending the musical, Avenue Q! Graham is definitely down for a musical, but I tried to choose one more on the gender neutral side of things...aka we didn't go to Cinderella. A couple of my coworkers had recommended it due to it's somewhat raunchy and realistic humor.

The story is about a group of neighbors (puppets) who live VERY far out of the city on Avenue Q. They are all in a somewhat unfortunate parts of their lives, either unemployed, stuck in the closet, sadly single, or sadly not single. The main character is a recent grad who moves to NYC without any clue of what real life is and a bachelor's in English.

All of the scenes hit home and remind the audience of some of the uncomfortable/memorable parts of their own lives.

The songs are creative and catchy, the plot is hysterical, the puppets make it out of the ordinary.

I would definitely recommend it and would most likely even see it again!

Next on my broadway list is Annie with my sister-in-law, Olivia and I'm hoping to drag someone else to The Book of Mormon. I'm totally into this broadway thing, sooo fun.

See some fun photos from the musical below and a review here.

xxoo, your musical aficionado (not really, at all) Mo
